Join creative duo Ekleido for a mesmerising dance experience featuring original music by world-renowned electronic musician Floating Points.
Opening the programme is Ekleido’s critically acclaimed Splice in which two dancers find the balance between limitation and possibility to solve a physical puzzle.
The second performance is Rorschach that reimagines the iconic Rorschach inkblot test. In this work, Ekleido encounter a future society where individuals are subjected to a mandatory Rorschach trial—a journey of self-revelation and survival where participants confront psychological endurance, moral compass, and physical limitations.
The movement language blends vocabularies combining contemporary dance and street dance including New Way Voguing, Threading and Bonebreaking
Joining the mix are Weston College Perfoming Arts students, who will perform a work inspired by Splice | Rorschach, featuring music by Floating Points. The students worked with Ekleido’s artistic directors Hannah Ekholm and Faye Stoeser in a 2 day intensive to create the work and features Ekleido’s signature movement style of contemporary dance combined with club dance influences.
Inspired by Rorschach, we invite audiences to participate in an arts and crafts activity before the show, where artists from Weston College will guide participants through creating symmetrical ‘Rorschach Inkblot’ inspired painting.
AND
Given Ekleido’s artistic director’s (Faye and Hannah) experience of hosting and promoting nightlife events and Vogue Balls – they know how to facilitate a good post-show party. Featuring a DJ set from DJ / production manager Charlie Knight, party lighting, and dance-floor facilitating from Faye and Hannah. This activity will be family friendly and the DJ will play music that doesn’t include explicit language.
